IBM recognizes Perficient for its innovative work with Premier healthcare alliance
SAINT LOUIS (Oct. 23, 2012) – Perficient, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFT), a leading information technology consulting firm serving Global 2000 and other large enterprise customers throughout North America, today announced it received IBM’s 2012 Information Management Integration Excellence Award. Perficient was recognized for its work with Premier healthcare alliance and IBM in developing and delivering PremierConnect, a technology platform that houses the largest virtual healthcare community in the country. The award was announced during the Business Partner Information Management keynote session of IBM’s Information On Demand 2012 conference, which is being held Oct. 21 – 25 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
“Best practices show that healthcare organizations that partner under a collaborative model across geographies and include physicians and patients in the design of care models are more successful,” said John Jenkins, vice president of Perficient’s IBM Business Group. “In partnering with Premier and IBM, our goal was to create a new data model and accountable care solution that gives healthcare providers the ability to be more responsive and provide innovative products that enable members to improve and transform their healthcare delivery systems. Perficient is honored that IBM has recognized us with the prestigious IBM Integration Excellence Award for our work in developing PremierConnect.”
Premier healthcare alliance, a provider-owned performance improvement alliance of more than 2,700 U.S. hospitals and 90,000-plus other healthcare sites, maintains the nation’s largest clinical, financial and outcomes database. It contains information on one in every four patient discharges, 2.5 million real-time clinical transactions a day and close to $43 billion in annual purchasing data.
With increasing pressure on healthcare organizations to assume risk for populations of patients, sophisticated data analytics that leverage the full spectrum of healthcare data – from hospital to physician office to home health – is no longer optional. Launched in June 2012, PremierConnect is a technology platform that houses the largest virtual healthcare community in the country.
“Today’s healthcare providers are forced to rethink the standard healthcare delivery model if they want to decrease sky rocketing healthcare costs and improve the quality of patient care,” said Denise Hatzidakis, Premier’s chief technology officer. “Through our work with Perficient and IBM, we have built a solution that enables healthcare providers to allow their customers and contributors to have a single, portal interface that promotes collaboration and connections with fellow doctors, nurses and administrators.”
PremierConnect allows alliance members to collaborate with each other in communities of common interest where they share learnings, data and strategies based on thousands of patient outcomes and documented best practices. It delivers the right analytics at the right time in the context of the provider’s job, and creates an environment where providers can collaborate to solve issues.
“Perficient’s team was instrumental in the development and deployment of PremierConnect,” continued Hatzidakis. “Their consultants provided significant expertise in helping design, build and deliver our platform that allows providers to receive the information that is most important to them at a time when they need to act fast.”
At previous IOD events, Perficient has been honored with awards including the 2011 Business Analytics Solution Provider Achievement Award, the 2011 Information Management Solution Excellence Award, and the Warehouse Pack Partner of the Year, Information Agenda Partner of the Year, Best of Show 2010 for Retail Analytics awards and multiple Cognos Partner of the Year awards.
